Make Your Own Sun Dried Tomatoes
Homemade Organic Dried Tomatoes
Sun-dried tomatoes are easy to make and they taste great with flavorful organic tomatoes. Here is how to make your own sun-dried tomatoes. Don’t use pre-packaged products dried with gmo-laden canola oil. Fresh organic ingredients ensure the best results.
You want your dry tomatoes to carry a flavorful zing! Use all your favorite seasonings. Be a non-conformist and choose the herbs your palate likes best. Here’s our idea of what tastes good.
Directions
Preheat oven to 225 degrees. Wash 8 to 10 organic Roma tomatoes and slice into 1/4″ slices lengthwise. Spread on a large cookie sheet greased with organic olive oil. Choose a flavorful natural olive oil with a bit of a “bite”.
Drizzle on top with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic granules, oregano, parsley, salt and pepper to taste. Perhaps you’ll add a bit of flaked hot pepper. All of your spices should be organic for the purest end result.
Bake for three to six hours for a long slow roast. Let cool. Serve on toasted, crusty Italian bread, in salads, etc.
No matter the season, is there anything better than organic sun-dried tomatoes that you’ve made yourself? Homemade is better!
